Notes: | From: Antiquities of Abbeys, Castles & c. & c. in Ireland, Vol. I Title inscribed in ink l.c. on sheet under image Watermark u.l. on sheet is probably JW Drawn by Austin Cooper perhaps when he was touring the country gathering money from area tax collectors, or a Paymaster to the Civil and Military Establishments. In his diary of the visit on May 19th, 1781 (NLI Ms. Acc. 4841, Cashel), Cooper noted that: The Steeple is large, abt. 20 feet square withinside & supported by two fine Arches abt. 30 ft. high - the inside is supported by a variety of Ogives from each angle, some meeting in an octagon in the centre, & others at the key stones of the vault. The upper part is entirely open, with doors on the N & W sides, & likewise two more, each on a level & opposite to, the walls of the Chapel Physical description: 1 drawing image 10.4 x 9.8 cm., on sheet 18.1 x 26.5 cm.
