Notes:James ('Jim') O'Donovan was a scientist and republican, became IRA director of Chemicals in 1920. As a member of the anti-treaty IRA executive he was arrested and imprisoned until July 1924. In 1936 he established and edited the journal 'Ireland Today' but was forced to cease publication in 1938.
