Summary:Satirical caricature [see British Museum 1868,0808.6066] after George Murgatroyd [also 'Moutard'] Woodward of George Hanger, 4th Baron Coleraine (1751-1824), who stands full face with a fierce frown, his hands on his hips; he has long moustaches. He wears his customary large Kevenhuller hat, huge epaulettes, gauntlet gloves, spatterdashes and a sabre. Beneath the title is etched: 'Do'nt raise my courage - if you do, / By Jove I'll cleave your scull in two!' Lettered with title, text above and lines below image and publication line: "London Pub'd 20 June 1791 by W. Holland. 50 Oxford St.". "Plate 3" at top right of sheet. In 1791, Hanger was appointed Equerry to the Prince of Wales [later King George IV].
