Local industry, Carraroe [Connemara, Co. Galway] :

There has been started, within last six months, by Mr. Michael Davitt, among the evicted tenants of Carraroe, Connemara, an industry which ought to command the interest and support of Irishmen and women at home and abroad....with adequate support this Women's Cottage Industry, which first sprung into existence in the wilds of West Connaught, will grow and spread till it becomes a national institution...the generous support of all who desire to witness this industrial renaissance of Ireland, is most earnestly and hopefully solicited.
