Notes: | Inscribed in ink on verso of drawing: North East Aspect of Wrotham Church & Pallace [sic] Kent Novr. 7th 1778 / Wrotham, in it are several ancient mansion houses seemingly built / out of the ruins of some more ancient edifices - The remains of / the arch bps pallace stands east of the Church, the Ball Inn seems / to have been part of the offices. A window stands close to the Road / in what is now a wall. This window is Gothic. behind [sic] it / but somewhat westward are the Ruins of Two windows seemingly / of the stile [style] of Elizabeth or James 1st, they are Square & / the walls built with Brick of stone.
