Notes: | See volumes at NLI call numbers BB6534 - BB6538. English publisher William Phillimore Watts Phillimore with genealogist Gertrud Thrift published Indexes To Irish Wills 1536-1858 in 5 Vols (1909-1920). This five volume series of indexes of Irish wills were compiled from the finding aids then in use at the Public Record Office in Dublin [later known as the National Archives]. The volumes record surviving wills that were then in existence at the PROI, which had been proved at local diocesan courts; the series does not cover every diocese because the project was cut short by the destruction of the Public Record Office in 1922.
