Summary: | Full length portrait of May McQuaid on her First Communion Day. The photograph was taken by J.J.Clarke in his garden. May's mother, Sarah McQuaid nee McBennett, was housekeeper and cook for Doctor Clarke from 1939 to 1945. After that, the two families remained friends. The McQuaids used to live only a few doors away from Doctor Clarke in York Street, Castleblayney, Co. Monaghan. |
