| Summary: | Card designed for the Cuala Press by the artist Lady Beatrice Glenavy, signed with her initials in plate, lower right. This card features an image of Mary, her arms tenderly around a newly born baby Jesus, who lies on straw. Behind them a group of four angels, garlanded in flowers, observe the scene, their arms folded (as though in prayer). Printed on verso [p. 4] of card "Hand coloured card / Cuala Press Dublin / Ireland. No. 26". Message printed inside card reads: "Dr. Brian O'Brien / Wishes You / Every Happiness for Christmas / and the New Year. 46 Fitzwilliam Square, Dublin". |
