Summary: | Small black and white playbill, featuring black and white images of Stanley Illsley and Leo McCabe on recto of sheet; on verso is the cast list and an overview of the scenes relating to their performances of Sean O'Casey's 'Juno and the Paycock' while touring Northern Ireland in November and December, 1945. CEMA, the Council for the Encouragement of Music and the Arts was established in 1940 in England to help promote culture, after World War two it was renamed The Arts Council of Great Britain. Amongst the cast list is a young Milo O'Shea, (1926-2013), while actor John Cassin [John Finbar, better known as "Barry" Cassin (1924-2017)] was assistant stage manager. From 1951 until the mid-1960's, Stanley Illsley and Leo McCabe managed the Olympia Theatre, Dame St., Dublin. |
