Summary:Postcard of a view of the Irish language procession that took place in Dublin city centre on Sunday, 12 March, 1905 featuring a photographic image of the crowds viewing the procession as it passed by St. Stephen's Green. Two very large banners are being carried in the procession - the one in the foreground of the scene features what appears to be an image of Erin [or Queen Maeve?] who stands, holding a harp. On verso the postcard is franked "Carl [Carlow] 6 - pm Ap [April] 5 05 [1905]" and is addressed in manuscript hand in black ink to a "Miss K. Higgins / Main St. / Maryboro / Co. Leix [now Portlaoise, Laois]". The [unknown] sender writes "Carlow Feis. A chara, I will send you a few copies of the syllabus when issued - i.e. about Friday next - I would be much obliged if you could circulate same among your friends and those likely to compete".
