Fitzmaurice Colonel who with the late Baron von Huenefeld [sic, von Hünefeld] and Captain Koel [sic, Köhl] accomplished the first East to West Atlantic Flight. This message was dropped from the Skies by Colonel Fitzmaurice on March 14, 1929.

Cosgrave and Colonel James Fitzmaurice, DFC and featuring an image of both Cosgrave and Fitzmaurice, wihtin ovals on sheet. Printed at bottom of sheet: "Designed by O'Kennedy-Brindley, Ltd., printed by Eason & Son, Ltd., Patrick O'Reilly, Solicitor, 66 Dame St., agent for the Candidate". Fitzmaurice was a member of the crew of the Bremen that made the first successful trans-Atlantic aircraft flight from East to West on 12 to 13 April 1928 with Hermann Köhl and Baron Ehrenfried Günther Freiherr von Hünefeld. Dr. Thomas Francis (Tom) O'Higgins, Senior was elected on the first count for Cumann na nGaedhael in this Dublin North by-election held on 14 March 1929; he was the founder of the Army Comrades Association, commonly referred to as the Blueshirts. His son Tom O'Higgins, Jr. (1916-2003) contested (as the Fine Gael candidate) the presidential elections of 1966 and 1973.
