| Summary: | Colour poster for the 1967 Abbey Theatre debut, an adaptation by Frank McMahon, directed by Tómas MacAnna from the 1958 autobiographical novel of Brendan Behan of the same title. The play commenced on Tuesday 10 October 1967 with actor Frank Grimes in the role of the young Brendan Behan and the actor Niall Toibin as the older Brendan Behan. Poster features two black and white images of Brendan Behan at left of sheet - one of him as a teenager and another of him as an adult. Original image designed for poster signed and dated the the [unknown] artist within image at right of sheet "13/7/'67". |
