| Summary: | ‘Sive’ was first performed by the Listowel Drama Group in 1959 but despite the popularity of the play, [which tells the story of 18-year-old Sive and her aunt Mena and uncle Mike’s attempt to marry her against her will to a wealthy, much older farmer, ‘Sive’ was not professionally produced on the Abbey Theatre stage until its' first production on Thursday 13 June 1985 (see poster for that production held at NLI call number EPH F909). |
