Summary:Strachan says he would be very grateful for the Bedell, and wonders might the Royal Irish Academy produce an exact reproduction of 'that most important work'. He talks about his fortnight in Dublin teaching a small class and says some of the students show promise. He mentions that the University [of Manchester] has recognised the study of Celtic and he hopes to offer classes in Irish and Welsh. He asks if she might soon be ready with her article on the topography of the Táin.

John Strachan was an eminent philologist and celticist. The Bedell he mentions is William Bedell, 1571-1642, Bishop of Kilmore and Ardagh, who commissioned the translation of the bible into Irish, with a view to furthering the reformation amongst the Irish.
