Dublin Trades' Union Council. Under the auspices of the above the annual Connolly Commemoration progression and demonstration will take place on Sunday, 10th May, commencing with parade from St. Stephen's Green, South, at 12 noon and finishing with a public meeting at the G.P.O., O'Connell Street:
Chairman: Mr. John J. Farrelly (President of the Council). Speakers: W. Norton, T.D., Leader of the Labour Party, William McMullen, Belfast Trades Council and Thomas Lawlor. Quotations from James Connolly: "The Labour Movement is like no other movement. Its strength lies in being like no other movement. It is never so strong as when it stands alone"..."Political and social freedom are not two separate and unrelated ideas, but are two sides of the one great principle, each being incomplete without the other".
