| Summary: | Letters from the poet and dramatist Padraic Colum to actress Máire Nic Shiubhlaigh, concerning his writing the foreword to her memoir 'The Splendid Years', its being reviewed in 'The Irish Times' and his efforts to buy a copy in the Irish bookshop in New York. He also refers to his financial situation, his continuing to work, having never, despite his expectations, ''received a good deal on a play'' (12 May 1950)and, in passing, to his health and the death of mutual friends, among them James Stephen (in a letter dated 4 Jan. 1951). Included is an undated postcard from Colum. |
