Notes: | The first published book of this weaver poet. Herbison (1800-1880), the "Bard of Dunclug", born Ballymena, Co. Antrim. He was blind from the age of three, regained sight in his left eye after four years; emigrated to Canada in 1827, was shipwrecked on the St. Lawrence, returned home to work as a weaver; was the local agent for a linen firm; a monument was erected to him in 1883.
