Other parts of text read: 'Whereas by a proclamation dated the 4th August, 1914, His Majesty in exercise of powers conferred on him by the reserve forces act, 1882, ordered one of his majesty's principal secretaries of state from time to time...for calling out the army reserve or all or any of the men belonging thereto...every man who has been or is deemed to have been enlisted and transferred to the army reserve...is required to report himself to the police officer in charge at the police station nearest to such man's place of abode in Ireland on or before the 17th day of July, 1918...if any such man fails...to report... he will be...dealt with as a deserter or absentee without leave from military service...A.C. Geddes.'
