Summary:Leaflet issued by the Irish Texts Society [Cumann na Scríbheann nGaedhilge] that refers to the report of the inaugural general meeting of the society, signed off on by the Hon. Secretaries Norma Borthwick and Eleanor Hull. The President of the Society was Douglas Hyde. Includes the general rules of the Irish Texts Society, the names of the elected members of the Executive Committee and the names of the Cunsultative Committee [amongst them Fr. Peter O'Leary [Peadar Ua Laoghaire], Osborn Bergin and Kuno Meyer] of the society and Vice-Presidents of the Society [amongst them Lord Castletown and John Kells Ingram]. Printed at foot of first page: "The number of members is now [in 1898] 390". Cumann na Scríbheann nGaedhilge or the Irish Texts Society was established in 1898 to promote the study of Irish literature; Eleanor Henrietta Hull (1860-1935) was co-founder of the society. It is a text publication society, issuing annotated editions of texts in Irish with English translations and related commentaries.
