Summary: | Election leaflet issued in support of Patrick McCartan's candidacy in South Armagh 1918. Containing the following information: the English Parliament votes the taxes on Ireland. The parliamentary party have been sitting in the English Parliament since 1881. In 1881 the people of Ireland were taxed £1 8s. 2d. per head now (1918) the people of Ireland are taxed by the English Parliament £6 7s. Od. per head and the Parliametary party have helped to vote that taxation. At foot of sheet: Vote for McCartan and Freedom. |
