Summary:Ulster Bank Sligo was completed and opened to the public in 1863. This is the one Sligo building which Yeats remembered in Stockholm when he went there to receive his Nobel Prize for Literature in 1923. The Swedish Royal Palace impressed him and reminded him of this Classical Renaissance building. Outside the bank now stands a bronze sculpture of Yeats, made by Rowan Gillespie.
