| Summary: | The Long Pond may date to the 17th century and is one of three surviving ponds in the gardens. It is constructed in the French style popularised by the Sun King, Louis XIV at Versailles. When this photograph was taken the water level of the pond had been lowered as part of a renovation programme. |
