A report from the committee appointed by order of the House of Commons to examine Christopher Layer, and others ; and to whom several papers and examinations laid before the House, Relating to the Conspiracy mention'd in His Majesty's speech, at the opening this parliament, to be carrying on against his person and Government, were referred. Reported on the first of March, 1722, By the Right Honourable William Pulteney, Esq; Chairman of the said Committee. At foot of title page: "Whereas some malicious persons, with a design of doing me prejudice, have industriously insinuated to the publick, that I don’t resolve to publish the latter part of Layer’s tryal; these are therefore to advertise, that the said tryal shall be compleatly finish’d and publish’d on Wednesday, and this report on Friday next at farthest." Signatures: A-T². Gathering P (p.55-58) is missigned "R". This gathering is bound in twice in the National Library of Ireland copy; correctly where gathering P should be and, incorrectly, where gathering R should be. Consequently, the copy is wanting p.63-66.
