Members of the Irish Railway Record Society at York Road Station, Belfast. The I.R.R.S. was formed just 13 years before this photo was taken.
Believe that the new(ish) Yorkgate station was built on this site. if anyone could confirm that, it'd be great (or if you have any information on York Road station as it was at the time this photo was taken, it'd be very welcome too). Anybody able to identify people in the photo will go straight to the top of the class! Doesn't look as if the I.R.R.S. was inundated with female members at this time...

Another beauty NLI, a record of a time as well as of a railway! The schoolboy in uniform with the skullcap and bag on his back, the lad in the blazer striking a pose with his braces showing, the bellows cameras neatly folded away on the two gentlemen on the right, just wonderful. As regards the ladies? They were at home doing what they should do--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- planning the feminist revolution!!!!!

Eiretrains
It's the old York Rd station, which was closed in the 1980s. The site is now a train depot, but there is nowadays an adjacent York Gate station. I'll show this photo to some people who might know the individuals, some I know a bit myself!

Eiretrains
In response to PaganTree, the train is diesel railcar No.4, built by the Northern Counties Commitee company at York Rd works in 1938, it survived until 1969 when it was destroyed by vandals! The IRRS party travelled by this special train to Cookstown Jct and Kilrea before returning to Belfast and back home to Dublin.
