Notes:Compiled by Kathleen Marescaux. Kathleen Louisa Rose Marescaux was the daughter of Major-General James Dennis of Newtown House, Co. Kilkenny. She studied art in Bruges, Heidelburg, Dusseldorf and Florence. In 1894 she married Lieutenant Gerald Marescaux in a lavish society wedding in Kilkenny Cathedral. They had two sons Geoffrey and Laurence Marescaux. She exhibited for the first time at the Royal Hibernian Academy in 1893 where she exhibited two portraits. She exhibited also at the Dublin Sketching Club from 1911 to 1939. In 1912 her portraits of her father and her husband were hung at the RHA. From 1912 to 1944 she exhibited at the Water Colour Society of Ireland annual exhibitions. She also exhibited her work in London, Kilkenny, Dublin, Portsmouth, Belfast, Edinburgh and Waterord. Her final exhibition was at the Limerick City First Annual Exhibition of Fine Art at the Goodwin Galleries in March 1944, a month before her death.
