| Summary: | "Kids' Own's Young Writers group is a cross-border creative writing initiative for young people living in Derry/Londonderry and County Donegal that was established in 2018. The group has gone from strength to strength since then: new members have joined, the group developed and thrived in online spaces during the pandemic before coming back to a mixture of online and in-person meetings. Above all, strong bonds of friendship, listening, and support have continued to grow. Under the continued mentorship of writer Mary Branley, and with new input from writer Susanna Galbraith, the group continues to be a creative, supportive space where new voices in literature can emerge. The title Bouyant was chosen by one of the contributors and perfectly reflects the joy and optimism of the group, as well as the pieces in this anthology: rising, floating, assured." -- |
