In one letter Leslie states that the previous dean, Dean Wilson, had shown Shaw a suitable resting place in St Patrick's Cathedral, Dublin beside Swift after which Shaw 'wrote me his delight but made the addition of his wife's ashes conditional'. In another he mentions that Lennox Robinson has a memorial play 'all in hand'. Letter from Alan Don, Dean of Westminster, stating it would be unfitting for Bernard Shaw's ashes to be intered in Westminster Abbey. Letter from Brian Durwin, Department of External Affairs, regarding Shaw's will. Extract from Shaw's will explaining the disposal of his and his wife's ashes and stating 'no public monument or work of art or inscription... commemorating me shall suggest that I accepted the tenets peculiar to any established Church or denomination nor take the form of a cross or any other instrument of torture or symbol of blood sacrifice'.
