Notes: | Newsletter has moved to an online version since 2018. Physical description: volumes : colour illustrations, portraits ; 30cm. Publication Frequency: Began as an annual (2003-2004). Then semiannual, published in spring and summer, beginning with issue 2 (Feb 2005). From 2018, four times a year, electronic publication only. Issuing Body: The Kilkenny Archaeological Society (KAS) was founded in 1849. In 1854, it was known as the Kilkenny and South-East of Ireland Archaeological Society. In 1869, the Society became the Royal Historical and Archaeological Association of Ireland. In 1890, its name was changed to the Royal Society of Antiquaries of Ireland (RSAI). Its original name, Kilkenny Archaeological Society (KAS) was re-established in 1945. Their various publications went through name changes, respectively. The Society exists for acquiring, restoring, preserving, and researching County Kilkenny's wealth of archaeological, historical, and genealogical records and artifacts.
