Contains letter from O'Neill to 'my dear and true friend Rose', 6 November 1942, while awaiting execution: 'I could plainly see in court your distress at having to come and give evidence on the case. It must have been a terrible ordeal for you ... Have no worry on this matter as there was no other course open to you ... of course you understand how glad I am our friend got away ...'.

Also contains an earlier letter from O'Neill to 'Miss Collins' 8 February 1942; two letters mentioning O'Neill and his capture; and unrelated earlier letter from 'Ned' to 'Cissie' regarding the 1933 General election.
