Notes:	Admiral of the Fleet Sir James Hawkins-Whitshed, 1st Baronet, (1762-1849), [born James Hawkins in Raphoe, Co. Donegal], was a Royal Navy officer. He was promoted to the rank of rear admiral on 14 February 1799; then Commander-in-Chief of the Sea Fencibles in Ireland in May 1803; vice admiral on 23 April 1804 and then Commander-in-Chief of the Cork Station during the Napoleonic Wars. He subsequently served as Commander-in-Chief, Portsmouth. On 17 November 1830 he was advanced to Knight Grand Cross of the Order of the Bath (he received the award on 1 December 1830). He became Admiral of the Fleet on 8 January 1844. Physical description: 18 item (18 letters). more
