Summary:Receipt, written in manuscript hand in iron gall ink (on sheet with engraved billhead of royal coat of arms) issued by Thomas Wright, Hat and Cap Manufacturer, 33 Westmoreland Street, Dublin to a member of the Pakenham Mahon family, for purchases (including a boating hat) to the value of two pounds two shillings on 13 May 1848. See NLI call number CLAR5, where in the photograph taken by John J. Clarke, the shopfront of Wright's premises and the words "Hatter to" can just be seen (at the extreme right of image) - the then proprietor was Joseph Wright.
