Accompanied by two small paper labels, 4.5 x 6.7 cm. and 5.6 x 4.7 cm. [the latter stamped "Ce 34"], engraved by James Waller, Dublin [signed within plate "Waller sc. Dublin"] featuring the words "Sligo Library, Established 1832" on an oval frame (which terminates in a belt-buckle) in which a pastoral landscape is depicted. In it a hare is depicted springing over a small ditch, which a stream passes through, while a castle or fortress can be seen in the distance in the right background.
