Summary: | Programme for an exhibition of paintings (and pastels) by Wexford-born artist Phoebe Donovan, (1902-1998), held in Corish's Picture Gallery, Custom House Quay, Wexford, detailing the titles of the 38 pictures that were to be exhibited. Eleven of the works on display were on loan (the lenders' name are given in the programme) but many others were available for sale, denoted by price [in guineas] indicated in the programme. Phoebe Donovan trained in Dublin Metropolitan School of Art and also attended the Royal Hibernian Academy Schools, exhibiting for the first time in 1931 in the RHA. She was a member of The Dublin Painters Society and a friend of the Irish artist Elizabeth Rivers, (1903-1964). |
