| Notes: | Letter to Francis Arthur John French, 7th Baron De Freyne, regarding a copy of a lecture given by the correspondent in Sligo (a draft version of the lecture was apparently sent with the letter but is not in the collection today). The letter also mentions Field Marshal John French, 1st Viscount French and earl of Ypres, and includes a clipping on the earl from the 'Irish Press'. The correspondent supposes that Ypres was related to the ‘impecunious’ John French of High Lake, who was imprisoned as a debtor in the 18th century and whose letters are included among the family correspondence in the De Freyne collection. 23 May, 1956.
