Summary: | Letters and related documentation sent to George Wolfe of Forenaughts, Co. Kildare, from those in the local regiment of the Irish Volunteers. Included are letters from Joseph Stynes of Kill, concerning the Kill Corps of the Volunteers (24 Sept. 1914), J. J. Bergin, Commanding Officer of the 1st Battalion, Kildare Regiment, concerning a forthcoming parade inspection (25 Sept.-3 Oct. 1914), L. Rowan, concerning the inspection to be undertaken by Col. [Maurice] Moore (29 Sept. 1914), and a circular letter issued by John J. O'Neill, honorary secretary of the Naas Company, concerning the question of issuing rifles those in the Company (16 Jul. 1915). Also included is an undated letter to Wolfe from Maurice Moore, written from Derry, in which he writes of 'Derry & Belfast are of course very important to us at the moment'. |
