Mr Redmond and Mr. Dillon leave Buckingham Palace after the conference! In 1914, John Redmond and the Nationalist community in Ireland were full of hope that Home Rule was a real possibility, only to have those hopes cruelly dashed by events that started in faraway Sarajevo.

It would appear that this photo was cropped. The original has silly walkers waving boaters at serious talkers. c7.alamy.com/comp/2BWAKKC/the-conference-at-buckingham-pa...

According to the Wikipedia article on the Government of Ireland Act 1914: To save prolonged debate in parliament, George V called the Buckingham Palace Conference with two MPs each from the Liberal, Conservative, IPP and Irish Unionist parties. The conference, held between 21 and 24 July 1914, achieved very little.

Dillon was at home for the 1911 census, but I think Redmond was not.
