Summary:MS 15,217/1: Correspondence regarding a forthcoming nationalist demonstration, closing the Parliamentary Fund for the year, a joint circular concerning the Irish Parliamentary Party funds, the settlement of the land question, George Wyndham’s land bill, the National Convention, William O’Brien, the Great Northern Railway Company’s bill for taking over the interests of the Donegal Railway Company, negotiations upon the English Education Bill and the Irish College in Paris. Also contains an enclosed copy of the Strabane and Letterkenny Railway bill.


MS 15,217/2: Correspondence regarding the standing committee about the Irish College in Paris, former members of the police force, O’Donnell informing Redmond that a member of the Irish Parliamentary Party was going to take a government appointment, the university question, a public letter from O’Donnell to the Secretaries of the United Irish League Convention, and John McKay on being the candidate for South Armagh. Also contains a copy of ‘Rome’, Vol. X, no. 25 (Dec. 11) and some newspaper cuttings regarding a papal decree concerning immunity for clergy before tribunals of lay judges.
