Contributors: MacSwiney, Muriel, 1892-1982
Summary:Shaw writes that "Herod's method of relieving family poverty is not easy to advocate when the method of Karl Marx is available as an alternative". He writes that he is aware of both sides of argument but refuses to state his own position, saying that "in short, it is not my subject; and it is not a man's subject anyhow: the women must handle it, as it is they who claim the right - or repudiate it". An explanatory note by MacSwiney states that she wrote to Shaw asking his opinion after a legal case in Germany.
