Summary:Contains Kathleen Clarke's correspondence with Eamon de Valera, John A. Costello and Taoiseach Seán Lemass concerning her views on a 1916 commemorative coin that features Padraic Pearse's image. Clarke takes issue with that fact that Pearse's portrait was selected over that of her husband Tom Clarke, and argues that Clarke, rather than Pearse, was President of the Provisional Republic. Included is a copy of a letter to her son Daly Clarke, concerning and in response to the issue of the Presidency in 1916; the authorship of this letter is unclear. Letters are dated 15 Mar - 3 Sept 1965; file includes photocopied duplicates of original typescript letters.
