Autograph letter, signed, from Margaret Mary Pearse to Hanna Sheehy-Skeffington,
1920 June 5.
|Main Creator:||Pearse, Margaret, 1878-1968.|
The letter is accompanied by a price quotation (3rd Nov. 1936) to a Mr. J. Clarke, of 9 Parnell Sq. on the headed paper of 'James J. Ardiff, Sports and General Printer, Old Kilmainham, Dublin W.5'. The quotation is for copies of 'The Strength of Sinn Fein'. This is a copy of the Presidential Address delivered by the Rev. Michael O'Flanagan at the Annual Ard-Fheis of Sinn Féin, 14th October, 1934, which was published in pamphlet form.
The letter appears to have been written by Margaret Mary Pearse, sister of Padraic. She finalises arrangements with Hanna Sheehy-Skeffington regarding a lecture she is giving the following day, and says the lecture will be held earlier, as some people have to attend an election meeting later. She makes mention of her mother having to attend a meeting also, but says she will be home in time to take tea with her.
The letter is written on a letter card from St. Enda's [School] and is addressed to Mrs Sheehy Skeffington at 7 Belgrave Road, Rathmines; it is signed 'M. Pearse'.
Margaret Mary Pearse was a politician and the sister of Padraic and Willie Pearse.
