Summary: | Writes "The Postmaster-General has instructed me to inform you that he has heard with pleasure of your loyalty and devotion to duty during the Rebellion; and he appreciates hightly the services which you rendered in a time of stress and difficulty. I am further directed to say that those members of the Telegraph and Telephone Staff who were on acutal duty during the Insurrection are to be granted a week's additional leave ... This additional leave is granted as a mark of appreciation of unusually trying work, done in circumstances of some personal danger." |
