The National Library of Ireland, Library Towers, Home Sweet Home, or the bunker. Whatever you might call it, you will never see it quite like this! Taken long before somebody decided to put the Dáil (parliament) right next door, and fenced it off, it does show what a beautiful building it really is. The perfect repository for the nation's great library....

I think the photo is near 1890, maybe before the opening; there are no lamps on the stone plinths (see note), and a lack of shrubs and vegetation - perhaps the fellow with the wheelbarrow was about to plant?

[https://www.flickr.com/photos/beachcomberaustralia] Agreed. In the half lamp no shrubs shot, you can see that the post I noted here at the far side of the grass circle is a temporary lamp. The view I included above as 1895ish, you can see that the lamp plinth is empty there too (through the railings in megazoom). The gate houses in that one have an empty urn, later they got replaced with lights.

In L_ROY_07307 of Leinster House, we are still before Victoria in 1908, but now there is a path straight across the diameter of the grass circle as well as well-grown shrubs and borders.
Note the difference between sooty old Leinster House and the relatively fresh library/museum.
