Text on card reads: "The Robert Emmet (Dublin) Club have undertaken the work of errecting a memorial at St. Michan's Park (Site of Old Newgate Jail) in memorial of Lord Edward Fitzgerald, John Sheares, Oliver Bond, William Michael Byrne, James Clinch and many others, whose lives were offered up for Ireland on that fateful spot. As the famous Phillipic of Freedom spoken by Robert Emmet was delivered in Green Street Courthouse, adjacent, they hope to bring this work to completion in the Emmet Centennial Year of 1903. Subscriptions forwarded to J.P.Dunne, President, Emmet Club, 51 Innisfallen Parade N.C.R [North Ciruclar Road]; Ja[me]s Millet, P/L/G/. 12 Lower Bride St., will be publically acknowledged".
