Summary:Report published in 1901 by the Committee on Standing Orders and bye-laws for Meath County Council recommending a series of bye-laws to be adopted by Meath County Council. Opening line of text reads: 'We recommend for your adoption the following bye-laws. Should you adopt them, or, in an amended form, we recommend you to seal and sign a sufficient number of copies of same as made by you...bye-laws under the Local Government of Ireland Act, 1898...that every qualified person elected or chosen to a corporate office in this council, who shall not accept the office by making and subscribing the declaration...within three months after notice of election...shall be fined £5 pounds...'.
