Includes proofs for Books III of "Work in Progress", for Chapter I, Episode 6 (part of) of "Work in Progress", galley sheets and proofs of Finnegans Wake, for publication in 'transition', a literary journal founded in Paris by Eugene and Maria Jolas. The proofs date from 1927 to 1929. It also includes pages that were detached from a Finnegans Wake notebook, possibly one of those currently held by the University of Buffalo.
In the galley proof content description, words enclosed in parentheses and quotes and separated by a vertical stroke are the first and final printed words for the corresponding page.
