Summary: | On 13 April 1742, at twelve noon, Handel's oratorio 'Messiah' received its first performance in Neal's Musick Hall, Fishamble Street. Our Lady's Choral Society marked the 250th anniversary and has continued to do so every year since by singing excerpts from Messiah. The series of photographs show members of Our Lady's Choral Society with their conductor Prionnsias Ó Duinn, the City Manager, Mr Frank Feely, and representatives of the Temple Bar Properties, at the 1994 commemoration. The medieval street line can be seen in what would once have been a winding pathway from Christ Church Cathedral to the Wood Quay.
