Summary:Cutters' Wharf, Stranmillis: A new feature at the site of the First Locks is Cutters' Wharf, a pub-restaurant. It has drawn fire from two fronts. Those who live in the area resent the way in which their streets are being taken over by cars parked by the Wharf's customers; it has no car park of its own, a curious omission on the part of those who granted planning permission. Others find fault with its architectural style, declaring it to be no adornment of the riverside. The wharf is meant to look like a dock-side warehouse. One wonders why a 'selling point' has been made of this aspect since at no time were there such buildings as far up river as Stranmillis.
