Notes:This image first appeared as whole-length, then in a second plate cut to three-quarter-length, 'Price a Shilling sold at the Golden Head' and in a third state with address as here and no price. It has been stated that the whole-length plate was destroyed when a few impressions of it were taken off...it would follow that the second state was in reality the first state of a second plate...See Chaloner Smith "British Mezzotinto Portraits" Volume I (1878) p. 447
