Summary:10 cartoons (numbered 2 to 11; number 1 is missing) of English and Irish politicians and activists; their caricatured heads are depicted with the bodies of animals. Those identified are: No. 2 Lorcan Sherlock (depicted with the body of a fox); No. 3 Mr Partridge (depicted with the body of a partridge); No. 4 - William Martin Murphy (depicted with the body of a lion, whose front paws are resting on a bone which has the words "Art Gallery" written across it); No. 5 Charley Dawson (depicted with the body of a robin, wearing a top hat, collar and spats; he has a long nose bearing the words "City Rates" on it); illustration No. 6 is of Jim Larkin (depicted with the body of a an elephant - he holds a branch in his trunk, with a tag hanging from it that says the word "Contract"); No. 7 is Augustine Birrell, the Chief Secretary of Ireland (he is depicted as a dancing bear); No. 8 features an ostrich, wearing a top hat and cloak (a tag hangs from his neck with the word "Ratepayer" and in the backgound is a bowl with parcels in it: one reads "High Rates", the other "Candidate's Promises"); No. 9 is of John Redmond (he is depicted as an owl, perched on a branch of a tree; the tree trunk reads "The Party"); No. 10 features an octopus, whose tentacles curl around small houses, (one tentacle holds up a placard that reads "Slum Vote" and another tentacle has the words "Slum Owner" written on it); No. 11 features an unidentified man with the body of a fish (he is shown in water and has his mouth open, about to swallow a fly in front of him).

Notes:The artist and illustrator Frank Reynolds (who died in 1953) signed many of his works, including those on this sheet with the initials "F. R." or "FR."; in this instance the sheet of paper is signed "F.R / 13" in white gouache paint on the l.r.

Written in ink on a slip of paper attached to verso of the sheet: "In the Irish Zoo". Also, the following individuals are listed (in ink) on it: "2 - Lorcan Sherlock (Lord Mayor); 3 - Mr Partridge; 4 - William Murphy; 5 - Charles Dawson; 6 - James Larkin; 7 - A[gustine Birrell], Chief Secretary".
