Text underneath this reads: 'KEY./ The following nine sentences of thirty-two letters each, with the exeption of the vowel O, which is omitted whenever it occurs, are arranged in nine concentric circles, forming at the same time the thirty-two points of the compass. each sentence commences at the Fleur de lis or north point; and whenever a word seems incomplete the reader is referred to the great O in the centre, surrounding the head of the Liberator, to supply the deficiency./ The inscription round the head is to be read in the same manner./ Repeal of XL of George III. Chapter XXXVIII./ Ireland requests her sons to do their duty./ Your consellor is O'Connell - take his advice./ Persevere peacefully in your struggle./ Shun all secret and unlawful societies./ Be not provoked to commit a breach of the Peace./ He who commits a crime favours his enemies./ Let temperance, Peace, and Order, prevail./ Fear God - honour the queen - love your Neighbour.'
